Unfinished conversations
kisses given without thought
the familiar rhythm of two people
pretending nothing has changed
while lies dress themselves
in fragments of truth
so many nights I slept peacefully
completely unaware that you
would eventually destroy me
that you would take, the very essence of me
myself, my ipseity
you thought silence would protect you
and time would bury everything
but bones rise and ghosts return
revealing the truth, however deeply hidden
now all I recall are the ruins
moonlight falling through broken ceilings
and wildflowers growing where promises
were once quietly whispered
