I have been writing poetry since I was a child on and off.  I am also an amateur photographer, and if you check out my photography blog, you will see that I also love poetic pictures!

Many of my poems have arrived in my head without warning, a line or a thought, or a perspective on something I see, which I pour out in words, and then later, I read it and have no memory of putting it all together.  Sometimes they are great (well I think so anyway!), other times they need a bit of work, but that’s the fun of the process I think.

There are some repeating themes in there too, words I seem to use a lot, subjects that get a regular airing in various attempts to give voice to feelings or thoughts.  It’s all part of the way writing works for me.  I don’t usually work too hard on ‘fixing’ my drafts before I publish, but I do tidy them up from time to time!

I hope my words bring pleasure to those who read them.

In short, I love to read, I love to write…..words bring me pictures and pictures bring me words!

    1. Thank you for your kindness in nominating me for this award, I am very honoured that you thought of me! I wont go through with completing the process this time though, as I have just done this recently and a number of people that I nominated expressed how difficult it was to keep finding a new 15 people to nominate, or conversely how hard it is to decide which 15 people to nominate, and in either situation, it created stress for them!

  1. Thank you so much for the ‘Very Inspiring Blogger Award’ nomination Ann, an honour indeed! At long last I have posted my acceptance and nominations. May the muse forever bless you and your passion for writing never become a burden. Thank you once again.

    1. Thank you Melanie! Helen and I have been best friends for literally decades but even so it is lovely that she passed her award on to me! I hope you enjoy some of my poems and pics and they brighten up a moment or two of your day from time to time! I will drop by and look at your blog over the weekend (work is very busy right now!)

  2. On your blog I read that you love words that bring you pictures and pictures that bring you words. That’s also my case because I’m a french-canadian poet who can also read english poetry. This friday sept. 26th, I got you last book from lulu.com where I also have my french poetry books for sale since many years. I started to read your micro poetry and enjoyed it quite a lot. Since you mix poetry and pictures, why not join the international movement Immagine&Poesia from Torino, Italy. Most members all around the world are english speaking. Here is the movement’s website : http://immaginepoesia.jimdo.com/index.php. Wishing you the best from Quebec, Canada !

    1. Hello again Huguette! I went and had a read of the website but could not see anything to tell me how to apply to join or what is required for me to do so. Are you able to advise me what to do? Thanks, Annie

  6. I know what you mean about poems arriving in your head…I experience my writing in a similar way. It’s always been a mystery to me where the poems come from. I love your work…really bright and fresh.
