…even with me
Deep in my dreams
I see shadows of birds swooping low in flight
I see bare branches
and hear forlorn sighs from distant trees
as they softly call to me
deep in my sorrow I return to this sad place
to cliffside tracks
and whispering winds, to the cold sea fog
that wraps around
the abandoned ruins of me
deep in my grief I walk the winding path
of stepping-stones, through dying leaves
I hear their trembling
I feel their despair, for they are fallen like me
deep in my world I paint the sky dark
with the absence of colour and with broken clouds
I silence the wind and I cover the moon
for now there is nothing, nothing to feel for me
deep in my emptiness
I drift in the quietude of my solitude
suddenly free from the pain, from the memories
my secrets unshared, even with me
