After all is forgotten
and I have already fallen apart
I find that my body still aches
and that I am still swimming
in the shallows of my melancholy
the endless hours escaping me
in this dark, shadowed place
the tangled pathways of my soul
filled with the fragrance of flowers
quietly blooming in the dark
lingering memories are still haunting me
they reopen the deepest wounds
and in my heart the rain still falls
teardrops falling like raindrops
dancing in the dark to unheard music
in perfect syncopation
