…of something once lost
We always lived a silent love
hearts that were once undisturbed
ever falling in and out of the mystery
and it is that time
it is calling once more
I hear it rising between us
like a sea with its whispers
it rushes and darkens the sand
with the sad empty echoes
of something once lost
night winds set the trees a-trembling
their leaves and unseen birds
speak in soft voices to the night
not for the first time
I am standing alone
draped in sorrow’s shrouds
a veil falls upon the moon
I watch it fade in the darkness
all that was now falls away
in silence it is displaced
but in my heart it yet remains

I found your words beautiful and was left feeling somewhat sadly tragic. Just wonderful Annie.
