I Am Draped

…in mourning silk

The birds and I
cry into the darkness
sorrow flutters blackly
like a shadow
spilling over me
bleeding darkly
across the surface
of my soul

I am draped
in mourning silk
and weighs heavily
upon me
like a still fall
of fresh snow

it clings to me
and I feel the cold
whispering
as soft as your sigh
over and over
in the rolling tides
of loss
