The Dark Corners

…of my grief

From beyond the dark mirror
that reflects your face
every fibre of my being
aches for your touch
a sorrowful serenade
fills the empty night
in all the colours of love
winding through
the chambers of my aching heart
and echoing again and again
from the dark corners of my grief
in the unravelling night
the tides of memory
are awakening
in my close held soul
such a sweet subtle spell
the moonlight weaves
here where the sun used to fall
the moon’s silver is spilling over
painting the night anew
and waves of grief roll over me
as I remember you
