…shifting restlessly under the moon

The night is liquid, it owns me, flows through me
dripping unceasingly, from the empty sky
in this empty space, where my heart melts
where the waters run, where your face reflects
I am wandering beneath this boundless sky
the tides of memory, shifting restlessly under the moon
flowing gently to the sea from the gardens of heaven
I see butterflies flying away from the dark night
and I feel that the vast emptiness, is quietly calling to me
here, between the darkness and the light
through the windows of the night, creeps the sunlight
birds cry in the wind, flying across the lavender fields of morning
as the silence is slowly fading, I still hear your footsteps falling
in my heart alone, I dream of your smile, perhaps a kiss
and of all that was left unsaid and undone
the butterflies are now resting, under a blossoming tree
and in my aching soul, their beating wings echo on the breeze
like the gentle sighing of numberless blades of grass
in this brief moment, in this instant of saudade
under the falling petals and the rain-soaked skies
I am slowly drowning in my melancholy
longing to see you again, just one more time
I hear the mournful song of a bird in the evening sky
and in each breath of the night, clouds and mists swirl around me
now even with the twilight shadows in my heart
drifting alone in the dark currents, of this endless night
all of the gates to my heart, are forever open
