A bird sits upon a wire, black on black
a single song rebounding such sweet disorder
echoing against the void of night
such gentle turmoil an alchemy of emotion
my heart breaks at the beauty
and the pain carried upon his melancholy refrain
dark wings spread like shadows
he circles upwards
ever alone with the moon
