Waking to the silence of tomorrow
lost within myself
from yesterday’s dream I watch
weightless words free falling, leaf like
woven with intangible reason
words that are mine alone
dripping like the morning mist from roses
numbering the countless petals of my love
the perfumed air stirs a distant memory
a love never uttered never spoken
but in this moment dawn somehow brings me
the haunting shadow of your face
I hear the threads of truth as they unravel
through the thinness of the morning air
they speak in the tones of trust
and stir a distant memory
but suddenly the spell is broken
and then, what surprising silence
