My Heart

…an empty canvas

We are two souls
silken threads, woven together by fate
your heart still echoes to me
in the gentle murmurs of the ocean of time
without you I am a lost leaf
chasing the wind in vain
my heart, an empty canvas
waiting for you to paint it again
a flickering candle
whose flame casts shifting shadows
as it burns itself away
no air left to sustain me
my colours now shades of grey
an empty boat drifting aimless
with no company but the cold moon
and the vast corner-less sky
where in a darkness so complete
I surrender to the void
this endless night, my burial shroud
