A bittersweet melody
a blackened sky, I linger here
in this place that has no name
this vast emptiness heavy with the weight
of unseen consequences
a final goodbye, your hand slips from mine
as I watch you go
and my heart breaks, one beat at a time
sorrow in slow motion I cling to your memory
my eyes search the canopy
still curious in my grief but darkness reigns
and I whisper my love to the ethers of time
aching to see you again
