Even in silence
my heart still hears your song
an endless returning
caught in an endless loop
I love you, I love you not
my longing lingers quietly in the shadows
and memories refuse to be forgotten
here lie the half-lived days
the unspoken words
that constantly ebb and flow
lingering and returning
over and over again
like distant waves whispering in the night
our love was a long painful road
each of us a reflection of the other’s ruins
breaking me into pieces
one day at a time
in my sorrow, hope still lingers
and promises still echo
the night is quietly blooming all around me
and the moon is slowly rising in silence
drifting up into the darkness
as the tides now dance
in the moon’s embrace
and now in my solitude
I travel on alone
