Clouds cover the moon
and an eerie mist circles the trees below
I wonder what the mist is hiding
is it lost and lonely like me?
I imagine the sky filled with stars I cannot see
and strangely, they still comfort me
a moment that my soul needs to heal
Yūgen is subtle, helping me sense the beauty
even in the cold rain that is ceaselessly falling
but inevitably, each drop brings memories of you
and my heart is broken, over and over again

Yūgen (幽玄) is a profound concept in traditional Japanese aesthetics that refers to an awareness of the universe too deep and mysterious for words. It describes a subtle, hidden beauty that is sensed rather than directly seen, and often evokes an emotional response combining profound grace with a touch of gentle sadness.
