…of my abandoned dreams

I am a petal blown off course
too light to settle and I am swept away
the vagrant drifts and the whispers
of gentle breezes will ebb and flow
our memories forever intertwined
as ivy to a stone wall
yet are forever out of reach
my loneliness is unfurling
in the whispers of the wind
and in the fragrance of long neglected flowers
in this soft summer night
this is the music of all abandoned dreams
thereafter, found but in memories
and under moonlit leaves
I feel you, just a whisper away
tiny ripples touch my soul
as a moth, lonely too, circles a flame
