One Hour

…into another

The crescent lifts her shadowy veil
and the sea is as deep as your eyes
inside, I am unwinding, yearning to be set free
slowly drifting into night, minutes become hours
my pain still lingers, painting my soul anew
and the stars, the beautiful stars, are fading away
a gentle rain is whispering into the darkness
forever is a moment, an hour, a day, that must always end
slowly fading into the void of the night
a quiet melancholy falls gently upon me
and I surrender to the past as the hours slip slowly away
your soul calls to me, softly, drifting in and out of reach
my small light of hope, dancing in the wind
a slow burning candle in my sea of darkness
filling the empty spaces in my heart and soul
your soul I breathed with every breath
another ending another lifetime apart
and gazing in the mirror, I see a glimpse of forever
reflected in your ever restless face
there is a touch, feather light across my lips
as I feel your presence fade
and the rain keeps dripping
one hour into another
