I watch the rain, falling free
with obvious finality
and unmistakable beauty
the trickle of painful memories
in the sweet stillness of the night
where even the windswept stars
with all the weight of the heavens
are feeling your absence
now turning towards the sea
in a brief moment
of unexpected serendipity
I find the restless tides
are silenced now
