Brief Intervals

…of a dream

Whispers of the dawn
cherry blossoms fall softly
morning mist gives way

a soft lilac horizon
a calming wind in the trees

in the garden’s hush
songs of robins fill the air
petals on the breeze

a long pause between the notes
as if waiting for something

gentle light of day
colours dance on trembling leaves
nature’s symphony

brief intervals of a dream
endless circularity

as the sun ascends
shadows lengthen day grows warm
peaceful moments pass

pale pink petals fluttering
drifting languid in the wind

  1. One of my favorite visual memories is when I was alone and hiking up a path in the winter, and the trees hung over the pathway like in the picture, but even more so because of the weight of the ice.
