…following me everywhere

You painted your colours into into my soul, a tapestry of longing
our love was fragile, a series of fleeting losses
but time and distance can never break the ties
for we are interwoven, forever intertwined
if not in body, but in mind, a union forged long ago
I wonder, will we ever find ourselves again?
our heart strings intertwined, knots we can never unbind
there is a deathly silence, the unseen fences of the night
the shadows of the wind
fleeing through the portals of endless darkness
as veils of loneliness wrap themselves around me
I am standing here alone in a night that is strangely still
the gentle pull of the moon
softly veiled in silver mist, is beckoning to me
the painter’s hand unseen, turning silence into colour
a shimmering moment born from a canvas of ghosts
the tides of memory ebb and flow in the night
still drawing me back in time, where in the fragile silence
the tides retreat into the deep
and the moon and the sea are resting intertwined
whispering all the memories that ever haunted me
a deep ache rises from within
and once again I find yesterday, following me everywhere
