I thought I had known love
with its harmonies and contrasts
lightly touched strokes of emotions
that painted their colours
into my mind, a tapestry
of longing and silence
yet like snowflakes, ever fleeting
love was always so fragile
I existed in an uneasy
nervous tumult
soft ripples of memories
always drew me back
and then suddenly
I found the one
the one, who with their silence
spoke to me of all those things
that had forever haunted me
and now I know why yesterday
has followed me everywhere
