We found a mirror in each other
not recognising the danger
I embraced the serendipity
and took those fateful steps
into the reflection
into our forever
or so I thought
your betrayal broke me
like shattered glass
each shard
inflicting bleeding wounds
upon my soul
as I watched you
get further and further away
now I look in the mirror
day after day
slowly watching myself forget
