…that fills the air

Loneliness is a place with no bridges
for we were interwoven, intertwined
if not in body but in mind, I am in deep waters now
just carrying on somehow caught in the currents
tears upon my face, here, for all to see
yet in the midst of the darkness
I suddenly realise that this is not an endless ocean
but just a drop , just a tiny drop of water in a deep ravine
there is a place in our souls where our love still resides
and time and distance cannot break the ties
I may be as fragile as a butterfly, once imprisoned in the shadows
but now I slowly arise from the darkness
and from the heavens there arrives a sweet, gentle cooling breath
a siren song that fills the air, slowly dissolving the night
every beginning has an ending
every ending, an incongruous binding
connections that can never be undone
I am awaiting the return of the light
for I know that on another beach, another shore
you look to the sky, and still find me here
