Haunting my dreams
deep in the mirror
I see your reflection
you were always my home
ever tangled together
we were never alone
but now I carry you in my heart
where the embers still burn
your echoes gently fading
like blossoms in the rain
as the seasons turn
in softly flickering candlelight
I stand here alone
a gentle rain tapping
at the windows
time stands still
as the breeze whispers
through a cracked pane
shadows shift upon the walls
in a crowded yet empty room
and I watch the sky fade
in the dying embers of the day
