I once watched your silhouette
through a telescope made of longing
stars shifted in my heart
planets orbited
around the syllables of your name
each vowel a nova, detonating in the dark
I studied your smile
as if it were the Rosetta Stone
to decode the soul of desire
but every translation
led to another fever dream
limerence came, uninvited
like a comet with no deceleration
you were everywhere
I became a map
of your imagined affections
as if longing could make you real
I mistook distance for intimacy
and absence for invitation
your voice is a whisper in the wind
moving through memories that never existed
I tell myself that you love me
in my phosphorescent fever
ghostly light, flickering at the edges of sanity
I am the hourglass
and you are the hour, I keep reliving
