This Deathly Silence

…is my serenity

My wings are wet
and heavy with, the weight of drowning
falling to my knees
as the winds slowly circle around me in the night
the shadows are dark and beautiful
moonlight bleeds, pale and white
I hear the songs of the sea
calling softly to me
wordless moments
they cast no shadows here
the realms of the dead are close
the price of life reflected in starry graves
a song of endings
birds have flown to warmer skies
leaves have fallen to dust
winds voiceless without them
trees now empty, turned to stone
shadows still blossoming
dancing wild and free
moonlight still falls in hushed veils
and silence, this deathly  silence
is my serenity
