If The Wind Speaks In Return

…I will still hear your voice

In all my lives you have been with me, whether day or night
I remember, my heart tells me so
down here where it whispers
you hide in the depths of my soul
butterflies of memories
in every moment and in every sigh of silence
there is an almost indiscernible trace
beckoning beyond the here and now
just past the limits of my sight
the ease of familiarity the gentle words that last
ten-thousand echoes ringing
until once again we will meet in seclusion
far beyond the boundaries of time
outside the circles of time
before immovable seas and impenetrable skies
beneath the waxing and the waning moon
that is where I will wait for you
the wind and rain upon my face
as clouds thunder and the lightning strikes
in the midst of swirling, icy breezes
as the withered leaves fall, I will remember you
beyond dreams I walk with you again, in the quiet hours
far from the pain and the loss, again we are one heart, one soul
when no oceans crash between us and the last clouds have floated away
when I whisper to you, if the wind speaks in return
I will still hear your voice, then I awaken and already I miss you
and I will wait for that in the drifts of time
for a thousand lifetimes
