Grief Is A Plague

…with no vaccine

The leaves fall, loneliness my only companion
grief is a plague with no vaccine
your heart no longer beats
but I am still here, ever searching for a trace of you
the leaves fall
time is precious, tick tock, tick tock
I am not listening to the clock
life feels like a broken dream that is fading with the years
the leaves fall
and the pain eats away little pieces of my soul
pieces of me fading, one after another
until finally empty and echoing
I am now only composed of my memories
the leaves fall
you never did say goodbye
now here in the garden of sorrow
I am but a wilted flower
and without your presence love
my petals too will soon depart
the leaves fall
time is moving faster now
and I know that reality has slipped away
I clasp my hands and shed a final tear
I see the cycles of the seasons
and I understand that it is time
the leaves fall, the leaves fall, the leaves fall
