Drenched

…in your shadows

Silence lies between us, weaving her silken net
the night is drowning me in softly fading images
stars like midnight blossoms
once spiralled down into the mirror of silence
lighting our midnight cathedral
sail-like strands of memories
quivering in the night winds, always just out of reach
our tapestry of souls, ancient, yet woven with well-worn strands
a perfect entanglement of the eternal threads of our history
the things revealed and unrevealed
the secrets hidden deep in the weave
I used to live there, balanced upon the edges of you
darkness unfurls in downward rivulets
our tapestry of lies, wound in absolute perfection
but now unwillingly awoken, I am unfurling my despair
and bleeding like the rising sun
into the fleeing night that gifts me dreams
my heart is heavy with loss, you still shape my dreams
drenched in your shadows, without you nights are empty
with my last breath I yearn to return
but all that remains, a blanket of ash
