Sorrow’s sweet caress
her tendrils gently woven
through time’s tapestry
shifting in shadows and light
the ghosts of all that is lost
masquerading as memories
some are lingering
in the corners of my soul
unseen and unheard
yet still a heavy weight
others come and go
with the cycles of the moon
and the ebb and flow of the sea
but I know in my heart
they can never return you to me
