I Still Look

…for your reflection

Each night, the winds sing most mournfully
and the shimmering veils of a new moon
will again find us half an earth apart
alone, I enter the darkness
and whisper to you with the hymns of my broken heart
here in my solitude I still look for your reflection
in the mirrors of my eyes
in the gentle morning your voice calls to me
in the wandering wind
‘speak three words, utter them softly’
my soul sighs back
time may pass but you have been here all along
and there always the breath of heaven upon the breeze
that brings me back to you
