Memories are blooming
flooding out in silence
footprints on an empty shore
slowly erased by the incoming tide
a single leaf battered by the winds
flutters down to rest
slowly filled with sand, anchored
until the ocean claims it
and carries it away
a fragile vessel, afloat on a surging sea
falling to my knees, reality beckons
I weep until tears are spent
and I wish that the tide would rescue me
