Diaphanously veiled
deep within the enigmatic pools
of your eyes
I see that you don’t see me
you don’t see the aching silence
that is the lonely shore
where I once stood alone
where both the sky and sea
comforted me with their artistry
the phenomena of the soft touch
of an unseen brush
an endless source of beauty
you don’t see that this
is where my heart drifts
slowly out into the ebb
you don’t see me losing myself
over and over and over again
