…are ever vast

The waves roll in
drowning the silence
not even oceans apart
I can no longer hear your heart
the cold caress of the distant past
the silent circles of eternity
for a moment, bring you back to me
just a shadow, that I feel but cannot see
sorrow’s seas are ever vast
I am captured by her dark art
but her offered shadows never last
silence returning in their wake
the waves retreat
