…my reflection cries

A Sonnet
Lost in the mirror my reflection cries
darkness is falling sad serenades flow
I see the lies reflected in your eyes
in the moment I must face tomorrow
cascading oceans of midnight and moon
the nightingale and I sing our sorrows
sweet memories lingering like perfume
in such melancholy the night does sing
beneath leaves of loss flowers cease to bloom
grief holds me close under soft feathered wing
a watchful moon fading in dimming skies
upon the wind I hear the ocean calling
night retreats in a symphony of sighs
lost in the mirror my reflection cries

Lingering is the heavy heart that weeps…your words reflect the deepest sadness in one’s heart yet healing in their seeming prayer. Beautiful.
