I am poverty and pain of many colours
I am the night that flows in silence ever alone
I am a fleeting shadow on the beach erased by the incoming tide
I am a dead leaf floating in the wind with no control over where I land
I am angry at an unjust world where empty promises crumble like walls
I am fading like dust in the cold fog of indifference
that mutes the voices too soft to rise above the crowd
I am listening to reality calling to me from afar
but I feel nothing until it shatters beneath my feet
I am surrounded by a world in which injustice unfurls
where silence is born of fear and empathy has vanished
My hands once caught the embers of my ashes
but I now no longer wish to be saved
