Some Snows

Fall harder than others

A shadowless dusk
silent and perfect, like vast space

A soft fall of leaves
tremble and shiver, as the cold wind blows

Some snows fall harder than others
and I feel the weight of it today

A veil comes down across the mirror
an ancient echo of an empty space

A faded image, from the faded past
flickers awake in my heart

Snowflakes dance weightless and drifting
in the melancholy songs, of the wind

So brief, so fleeting their moment
softly falling, in final surrender, to the ground

I dream of your whispers, long silent
and the warm touch, of love’s sweet kiss

My heart melts and I wonder to myself
if it snows in the place that you rest your head

In the undulating waves of my sorrow
I feel your heart, calling to me from the distance

And the leaves fall, they fall, red into white
beauty, drifting down on the breeze

Leaving only the vague fog, of memories
and images, shifting from rich colours, to black and white

Tears fall and still it blows, the frigid wind
and still it snows, still it falls

And still it falls, on me
