Through endless, starless nights
the silence between us grows longer
I find myself finally alone
The clamour of wind and sky
And the flames of a dying sun
The waning light sinks into the sea
as the heavens, slowly weeping
Drift away into eternity
The far horizon a funeral scene
once gardens and groves
pavilions and palaces
I sift through the ashes
as worlds fall away
between waves of darkness
and time’s running sands
But now there is nothing
finally, nothing
