I have a hunger that blooms inside of me
and burns like flowers of flame
Wrapped in the lonely shrouds of love lost
I filled myself to overflowing
in the depths of empty pools
Replacing my untethered sorrow
with the comfort gleaned
from the dark lies
and the empty promises of lust
In the yawning chasms of lacking
the vacant hours and the ticking clock
drained the life from me
and in the shadows of morning
all that remains
the sorrow in my veins
and the lingering pain of hunger
