Butterfly (Your Beautiful Wings)

That place was never a home

Loneliness, never found you alone

In absence, you still felt him there

His wounds, you could never repair

The silence was louder than pain

And you felt it again and again

You prayed for a reason to stay

Yet feared the price you might pay

Trembling like a trapped butterfly

Beating your wings until you could fly

What you felt as fear was your power

Awaiting your moment, your hour

Then came the time to walk away

The true colours of your courage

Your beautiful wings

Finally on display
