A Fleeting Moment

A Fleeting Moment

Through dark lilac light

In driving mist

I walk the stone pathway

Over the aching earth

In search of the sea

There is a sense of timelessness

And I wrestle with my thoughts

Then for a fleeting moment

I see a face

Upon the stained glass window of time

I see shades of light

And shadows falling

From an open casement window

While fragments of the past circle me

And I tremble

At the fearsome tones

Of memories
