The Sad Song of Surrender
Morning once again
And I am aching
With the reminder
Of distant affections
Sighing for the touch
Of long buried feelings
While eternity burns
With the sorrow
Of oft recalled loss
The sunrise
Withdraws from me
Its ancient knowledge
While the waxen lily and I
Linger, languishing
In shaded pools
On the brink
Of scarlet rapture
Jasmine
Weeping all around
Begging answers
Of historys’ questions
And here alone
My heart breaks
With the knowledge
That echoes
In the depths of my soul
And the sad song
Of surrender
