A Returning

A Returning

Deep set

In the core of your being

So deep

That you forget yourself

The droning of indistinct voices

In the ancient tracks

Visiting graves

It is half concealed

By old stone walls

A condition of the mind

Night deep

Then in just a heartbeat

Like a secret key

Opening in you

For a moment

For a reflection

In a sanctified hush

It appears as a whisper

To heal all heartaches

And ease every pain

Where blossoms

Once invited bees to drink

Where the blue

Is more distant than the sky

It feels like a returning

And you find your heart

The most elusive secrets

Little more

Than a footnote in time

A murmur has stirred

The muted unwindings

Filling you up

To overflowing

And the truth

Needs no revealing
