Winter Stalks My Heart
Your absence falls upon me
Like an endless silken veil
That wraps itself around me
And drains the blue
From the sky and the sea
Fades the fragile blossoms
As they dance blissful on the breeze
I wonder if loneliness stalks you
Like winter stalks my heart
Stealing the breathless beauty
From the dew drenched dawn
Turning the gentle swirling mists
Into cold clutching fingers of grief
That reach inside of me
Chilling me to the core
On even the warmest day
