The Dark and Lovely Sea
I hear your voice deep inside of me
The distance between us is but a dream
I long to fall into you
Like the river seeking the sea
To melt into you and you into me
And endless merging I will climb into you
And you will sink and sink eternally
Into the depths of me
Inside the tumult of this storm
The ripples rise and fall
And we are floating endlessly
In the underlying currents
But when we are falling together
We have gone beyond
Beyond holding and releasing
And beyond the things of dust and air
In this there is a stillness of lasting memory
And it fills us up as we sink as one
Into the dark and lovely sea
