Autumn’s Caress
Leaves, like tears trickle slowly
Down the face of an aching azure sky
Birds cry out in heartbroken tones of melancholy
Over trembling barren branches
Deflowered by autumn’s caress
The cool breeze stirs the shadows
A dreamlike prelude to darker days
And the feathers of winter’s wing
Lightly brush across my soul
And take my breath away
