A Fleeting Dream
The colours of water and moonlight
Silken cascades
Shift into the light of tomorrow
Their shadowed beauty lies
Swept away in the tides
Leaving only the fog of memories
And the liquid caress of tears
A gentle rain licks the earth
A winter moon leaves a frosted path
In the last fallen leaves of autumn
The hour grows late
There is a dark stillness
A heavy emptiness
That echoes in our hearts
Some snows fall harder than others
The cold settles deep within
The sky is strewn with broken clouds
And there are only petals
Falling down
Endlessly floating
In currents of tangible light
Trying to escape reality
In a fleeting dream
