This Flame That Devours
With the absence of you
The clouds gather beneath me
And the roaring winds
Are like changing tides
With every passing hour
I wish the words from your mouth
Thoughts like autumn leaves
Twist into fluttering piles
Or drift on alone
As I do
And with the breeze
I let it pass
This flame that devours
Memories
Like the flight of a delicate petal
The timeless flow of water
Unending
My sails unfurled
To catch the breeze
The quiet kiss
That has no end
You tread lightly
Softly as you go
And I see you again
Framed
By an empty window
