The Fragrance of Rain Is About
How still the flowers lie
The sweet white petals
The rose and the gold
Assailed by the wind
Splinters of beauty
A sense of disconnection
Defiled by earlier rains
Melting into each other
The hues blend and mingle into one
Fading the last colours to grey
A life is fleeting enough
Then it washes clean away
Nature is undone
And the fragrance of rain is about
