The Music of Abandoned Dreams

The Music of Abandoned Dreams

I am a petal blown off course

Too light to settle

Loneliness is unfurled

In the vagrant drifts

And whispers

Of gentle breezes

They ebb and flow

And I am swept away

Our memories are intertwined

As ivy to a stone wall

Yet are forever out of reach

Like the fragrance of flowers

In the summer night

This is the music

Of all abandoned dreams

Thereafter

Found but in memories

And under moonlit leaves

I feel you

 Just a whisper away

Tiny ripples touch my soul

As a moth, lonely too

Circles a flame
