Footprints On An Empty Shore
Memories blooming
Flooding out in silence
Footprints
On an empty shore
Slowly erased
By the incoming tide
A single leaf
Battered by winds
Flutters down to rest
Slowly filled with sand
Anchored
Until the ocean claims it
Carries it away
A fragile vessel
Afloat on a surging sea
Falling to my knees
Reality beckons
I weep until tears are spent
And I wish that the tide
Would rescue me
